I bought this Rain Bird sprinkler timer last summer, i’m kind of annoyed it’s already acting up. It worked fine at first, but now the buttons feel cheap and one of the zones just randomly stops. Like, why does this have to be so complicated already? For the price, I expected it to last longer and be a lot more reliable.

I remember sitting there checking my messages over and over, hoping support would finally get back to me. It took days to get a reply, and when they did respond, it didn’t really help much. the whole thing left me feeling disappointed.

I bought the Rain Bird smart controller thinking it was going to make watering the yard easier, but wow, this little Tech Genius app has mostly just tested my patience.
It randomly logs me out, takes ages to load, and changing the watering schedule feels like solving a puzzle nobody asked for. Half the time I make changes and then sit there wondering if Captain Confusing actually saved them or just ignored me.

For something calling itself “smart,” it feels outdated and clunky. I’ve spent more time babysitting the app than I ever did watering manually, so no, I wouldn’t buy this again.

I bought this thinking it would work with my older Rain Bird timer, and wow, was I wrong. It did not fit my setup at all, so I had to send it back, which felt way more annoying than it probably should have. Not the end of the world, but in the moment I was ready to declare war on my entire irrigation system.

I was hoping this would help cut down on water use, but so far it feels like it’s doing the opposite. Reading between the lines, I think it may just not be as efficient as advertised. It ends up wasting more water than I expected, which is disappointing...

I had a bad feeling when the shipping kept getting delayed, and I probably should’ve trusted my instinct. It’s been taking forever, and my order still hasn’t shown up. Really frustrating experience.

I couldn’t get my sprinkler timer connected and was pretty much out of ideas. Rain Bird support ended up walking me through the reset and setting it back up in the app, and they kept it simple enough to follow. Reply took longer than I hoped, but once someone got back to me, they clearly knew what they were doing. It’s working now, so

I bought a Rain Bird timer and overall the install went alright, but the instructions weren’t as clear as I expected. Some of it was straightforward, then there were a couple steps where I was kind of guessing and had to look up videos online. Not sure how to explain it, but it wasn’t really hard, just not as simple as it seemed like it should be. I got it working in the end, but it definitely took longer than I thought it would

My wifi been dropping almost every day now. It connects for a bit then just goes out again, really annoying.

I was able to find the sprinkler parts I needed, which was great, but a few items were out of stock and the shipping took longer than I expected. The site was easy to use overall. I’d probably order again if I wasn’t in a rush, but if I needed something right away, I might check availability elsewhere first.

Trying to place my order was way more frustrating than it needed to be. The checkout page kept glitching and messing up, and I felt like I was just stuck in some support queue as ticket number whatever instead of being helped like an actual customer.

It worked fine for a few years, so I can’t say it was awful. But after a while it started acting up, and it made me feel a little uneasy about the purchase. Once I’d paid, I kind of felt like I was on my own.

I had to return a sprinkler part under warranty, and Rain Bird did end up helping me out. The email replies were a bit slow though, and I had to follow up a couple times, lol. I did get the replacement in the end, so it worked out, but the process could’ve been a little smoother.

I got this Rain Bird sprinkler setup for the front and back yard, and to be fair, the coverage is good now. The lawn isn’t getting those annoying dry strips anymore, which is nice, since apparently evenly watering grass shouldn’t have to feel like a project.

I did have to fiddle with the sprinkler heads for a while because a couple of them were very committed to watering the sidewalk instead of the yard. Once I finally got everything adjusted, it ran consistently, and the water pressure seems solid even with multiple zones going.

I’m giving it 4 stars because the setup took longer than I expected, and I guess I foolishly thought it would be a little more straightforward. Still, it does work well overall and definitely waters better than my old system.

Rain Bird has been fine for me overall, but the sprinkler parts seemed a little pricey for what they are. I expected them to feel a bit sturdier for the money, though to be fair I haven’t compared every brand out there. Shipping felt kind of expensive too, but maybe that was just my order. Not a bad experience, just didn’t really feel like the best value.
